Monday Blah

Why do Monday's always seem so blah? For those who have an actual job it's understandable, but right now my only job is to take care of my house and try to keep our zoo of animals under control. Today I feel like doing nothing. I am currently curled up on the couch snuggling with the puppies watching a marathon of Amsale Girls on WE and I have no desire to move. Sigh, if only I could stay here all day. But sadly there's laundry to be done, a kitchen to be cleaned and a living room to be picked up.

Movies

There are a lot of good movies coming out this year, so I figured I would do a little post about the ones I'm most looking forward to. Let's start out with sequels/series.

Breaking Dawn Part 2- We've got a while to wait on this one, but I've been a fan of the Twilight series from the beginning and I can't wait to see how it all ends. Bella will be waking up a vampire, and I'm curious to see what kind of action they add to the movie. The book was really lacking in that department, and I really liked what the did with BD Part 1, so I'm definitely looking forward to how they end the series.

The Avengers- I probably never would have watched all of the superhero movies if it wasn't for my husband, but I am definitely looking forward to seeing it. Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America are enough of a reason.

Am I right ladies?

Unfortunately I won't be seeing this movie in theaters since B will be gone, so I'll just have to wait until it comes out on DVD, which should be around the time he's coming home. Here's the trailer.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey- I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who was super excited to find out that Peter Jackson will be back with the prequel to The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. For those of you that live under a rock, it follows Bilbo Baggins journey when he first finds the ring, and is the first of 2 parts, the second of which will come out a year later (Christmas 2013). This movie is going to be epic. Feast your eyes and try to tell me you're not exited.

The Hunger Games- If you are a fan of the books, you're probably eagerly awaiting this movie, as am I. I read all three books in two days, and they were just phenomenal. I'm probably not the only one who stalks YouTube hoping for a new trailer to show up (at least I hope I'm not). If you haven't read the books I would highly recommend it. With the end of Harry Potter, and Twilight coming to a close later this year, I predict that this series will be the next big one, and I really hope it does not disappoint.

There is also another Batman, Superman and a remake of Spiderman coming out this year, so if you are a fan of superheros, this is your year for movies.

There are also several movies coming out this year that I'm sure my husband will be happy he's gone for, as he won't have to suffer sitting through them. Namely, the Romantic Comedies. I don't care if some of them aren't the best movies ever, I'm a sucker for a romantic movie.

One that really jumps out at me is The Vow, with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. Basically they play a married couple who are in a car accident. Rachel McAdams character wakes up with no memory of her life, including her gorgeous hubby. The movie is all about her trying to discover her life and learn how to love a man who is virtually a complete stranger to her. It looks sappy and cute, here's a trailer.

There are also two versions of the Snow White fairytale coming out this spring/summer. The first, Mirror Mirror stars Julia Roberts as the evil queen. It looks a lot more lighthearted and funny, probably something I'll rent rather than see in theaters.

Snow White and the Huntsman is the darker version, which Charlize Theron as The Queen and Kristin Stewart as Snow White. It's also got this guy in it again

I know I know, I really just wanted another excuse to post a pic of him without a shirt on :) But I mean come on, who doesn't want to see that in a movie? Anyway, I really like when they do darker versions of fairytales, so I'm very excited for this one.

Also, if you have kids, you might like Brave. It reminds me of Tangled, which I was a huge fan of! It's from Disney, and follows Princess Merida, who must use her unlady like skills of archery to undo a curse from a witch. It looks cute and funny and definitely worth a watch.

I'm sure there will be quite a few more good ones that will pop up throughout the year, but I think these few are definitely going to be some of the highly anticipated movies of 2012.

2012

It's a brand new year! I've been a terrible blogger, but I will try to be better. The holidays were crazy and now we're getting ready to move again as well as gearing up for the big D, so I don't anticipate things calming down until after B leaves. This year I said I wasn't going to make any resolutions because I never seem to keep them, but I decided to go ahead and do it anyway, so here goes.

Resolution #1- Eat better. Buy more organic, natural foods. Buy less boxed processed foods. Cook things from scratch, and make dinners with real ingredients instead of grabbing a box of something because it's easy. I've been working on this one, but there's always room for improvement.

Resolution #2- Take Sulley for more walks. He loves walks, and I don't take him nearly enough and this will also get me out of the house and exercising. I anticipate this to be happening a  lot more once I move and live near my friend.

Resolution #3- Be as eco friendly as possible. I've already made great strides to make our home a lot more eco friendly and eliminated a lot of unnecessary chemicals. I've replaced our  laundry detergent, cleaning products and soaps with all natural ones that are just so much better for our bodies. We traded in our car for something newer with better gas mileage. I'm going to start composting after we move and I want to replace our cookware with these amazing green pans I found. They are non stick but don't have any of the chemicals that teflon pans have. I also want to eliminate all the plastic tupperware from the house and replace it with glass since the plastic can have harmful chemicals in it, especially when you heat up food in it. Overall I'm just a lot more conscious of the products I buy and where they come from, and I would like to continue that.

Resolution #4- De-clutter and get rid of things we don't need. Moving is going to be the perfect opportunity. I already purged my closet and got rid of a ton of things I don't need/don't wear anymore. I plan on purging the rest of the house as we're packing. I'm sick of having the mentality of 'Oh maybe I'll use it sometime.' So the new rule is if we don't use it, we don't keep it. I anticipate a lot of goodwill trips in my future.

So there we have it, my new years resolutions! I'll have to update my progress as the year progresses so I can see if I actually manage to follow through all of them.
